Giving Tuesday, December 3rd

Join The LBW Trust on December 3rd for Giving Tuesday, a global day of generosity where your support can make a profound difference.

At The LBW Trust, we believe access to educational opportunities is the single most powerful tool for transforming lives, opening doors and building stronger communities.

Education is more than learning—it’s the foundation of opportunity. With your support, The LBW Trust empowers students with scholarships, educational resources, and community programs designed to open doors and change lives.

Why Give to The LBW Trust on Giving Tuesday?

This Giving Tuesday, you have the chance to help The LBW Trust provide much-needed educational resources and support for underprivileged students, giving them the tools to build brighter futures and stronger communities.

Your gift helps students from under-resourced communities gain access to the tools, opportunities and support they need to build a brighter future. From scholarships and school supplies to vocational training and infrastructure support, your contribution makes an immediate and meaningful impact.

Every Gift Counts

Here’s how your support can change lives:

VECT

In Odisha, one of India’s poorest regions, VECT provides university scholarships for disadvantaged students in fields like nursing, medicine, engineering and business administration.

These life-changing scholarships cost less than $500 per student annually.

PRERANA

Prerana helps students from Karnataka’s poorest rural areas access accredited tertiary education in their chosen fields.

The program costs less than $150 per student annually.

YUVA PARIVARTAN

The Yuva Parivartan program, run by the Kherwadi Social Welfare Association in Mumbai’s slums, helps drop-out students access vocational training for stable employment.

Our current campaign supports 300 students with $50,000, costing just over $150 per student.

HEARTLAND

In Nepal, LBW funding supports the Centre for Learning and Children’s Rights, which has helped 2,200 students earn tertiary qualifications in teaching or health fields.

Our annual contribution enables each student to receive education for less than $400 per year.

CANDLEAID

In Sri Lanka, LBW funding through CandleAid Lanka covers the costs that enable students from impoverished rural areas to live in the city and attend university, which is free.

Despite recent economic challenges, the cost remains under $140 per student annually.

INDONESIA

LBW supports the UTS Refugee Teacher Training Program, providing accredited qualifications to refugees in camps.

Our annual contribution helps train 20-30 teachers, benefiting thousands of children with education in refugee camps.

SS4LS

In South Africa, LBW funds the Sport Skills for Life Skills program at the University of Western Cape, offering scholarships and internships to athletes, physiotherapists, nutritionists and managers, providing valuable career training to students unable to afford university.

AUSTRALIA

In Australia, The LBW Trust partners with Friends of Library Australia to fund projects in rural areas, regional libraries, and communities with populations under 20,000, supporting local access to resources and educational opportunities.
