In March 2017, The LBW Trust medical graduates and students played a pivotal role in a pioneering Health Check-up and Awareness camp in Kosala village, located 60 km from Bhubaneswar, Odisha.

Under the banner of the Vikash Educational Charitable Trust (VECT), the team assessed, treated and advised 326 patients. The LBW Trust has had a decade-long collaboration with VECT and is proud to see many of its scholarship holders contributing to this innovative and impactful project.

The camp aimed to provide free medical services directly to villagers who are far from Government Primary Health Centres. Seven medical students, supported by LBW Trust scholarships, had the opportunity to observe the work of four experienced doctors who are LBW Trust grant beneficiaries. These doctors—Chandan Sahu, Ashok Ku Jena, Bibekananda Rout, and Prasanta Ku Samal—are now employed in Government hospitals.

Working alongside specialists from Apollo Hospital in Bhubaneswar, the team was deeply moved by the urgent need for their services.
